A Crocker’s Family Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to stop and take a moment to appreciate life’s blessings and all we have to be grateful for. Here at Crocker’s we are thankful for a wonderful team who support one another – on and off the clock. Most of you only know us from behind the sales counter, but we want to give you a look into the personal world of the turkeys we’re most thankful for this Thanksgiving!

We’re thankful to be surrounded by a strong group of women {and men}. Each with their own unique story …

“I am the mother of a two-year-old little girl name Kyle. Together we’ve joined our extended family for dinner every Sunday for the last three years. I’m also a certified EKG tech but have never worked a job in that field.” ~Heather

“I was a Sunday School teacher for 6 years. I consider myself a dork, mostly because I have an obsession with stationary and recently look a calligraphy class so I could send letters to my friends in pretty handwriting. My theme song for everyday is ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’.” ~Lauren

“I have ran seven half marathons! I like to bake sweets. I was a dancer for 26 years and still find myself choreographing routines anytime I’m somewhere where there’s music.” ~Melissa

“I’m an adrenaline junkie! I recently ran a half marathon, just went sky diving for my 30th birthday, have a concealed handgun license, and am a certified scuba diver. I love being active.” ~Makenzie

We’re thankful for the opportunity to work at such a wonderful place, with such amazing people …

“Even on a bad day I know I can come to work and the girls will brighten my day. Even though I’ve only been here a short time, I value the relationships I have with each person already. We spend as much time at work as we do at home and they have become family to me. The opportunity to come to a place and be surrounded by joy and faith makes every day a great one!” ~Heather

“I’m thankful that I am close enough to my coworkers to truly call them family. The last couple of years has been extremely hard on my family and these girls have been there through it all, lifting me up. They’ve been my source of strength. They have prayed for me and my family, hugged me, and dried lots of tears. They even leave treats in secret places for me when I’m stuck in the hospital! I couldn’t’ ask for a better group of ladies to work with.” ~ Lauren

I am thankful for the relationships I have, it’s great to be friends with such a diverse group of women who are in all different stages of life. I’m also grateful to be part of my coworkers lives. Throughout the years I’ve attended many weddings, celebrated the arrival of new babies, and also stood by women as they became grandmothers. I love that I get be a part of these milestones!” ~Melissa

“I’m thankful for the respect we have for each other. I would’ve never dreamed such a large group of women could come together every day and not only all leave in one piece, but also care so much about each other. We are like a one stop friendship shop! There will always be someone there for you to laugh with, cry with, tell you it’s going to be ok, and even dish out the tough love when you’re making a terrible decision!” ~Makenzie

And we’re thankful for the memories that we’ve made …

“I crack up every time I think about Makenzie running around in a dinosaur hat dancing with her short ‘T-Rex arms’. I am so glad that we have it on video! I also love Lauren’s energy, when she finds something she is passionate about she goes all in and it’s hysterical!” ~Heather

“I love, love, love when we make our Crocker’s videos for social media, or events. Everyone just lets loose and we have a blast, there’s never a dull moment.” ~Lauren

“I love coming to work every day, it’s always something new and exciting. You never know when one of the girls will suddenly break out in song and dance. We love laughing with Kathy when she sings the wrong words, and then you never know when Makenzie will appear with a lime peel as teeth!” ~Melissa

“I love the spontaneity. It was literally my second day when Shawn had me in front of glass case of diamonds doings high kicks like a karate kid on the playground! I knew then I belonged with these girls. Oh, and it never ever gets old putting a bug anywhere near Melissa because the reaction is always hysterical.” ~Makenzie

We hope that you all have just as many people, places, and memories to be thankful for this year. From all of the Girls of Crocker’s, we’re wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.

Crocker’s Summer Recap

The days are getting shorter, and the temperatures in Texas are starting to become bearable. It can only mean one thing … fall has arrived. While we’re all excited about the new season, we’re not going to kiss summer goodbye without a quick look back.

The Crocker’s team was on the move over the last couple of months. From Alabama to St. Lucia, and even in Jamaica our staff was living it up. See below for a recap of summer, as we knew it …

shane_shawnShawn & Shane
We took a family vacation to lovely Seaside, FL. We loved all of the cute little towns full of shops and restaurants. The highlight of our trip was definitely watching our babies play on the beach for the first time!
I went to St. Lucia with some of my best friends! The highlights were hanging out on the beach and experiencing a new culture. It was so beautiful everywhere you looked and I feel so fortunate to have been able to go with people I love. I’ll always cherish the memories!
I went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. My favorite part of the trip was laying out on the beach, soaking up the sun, and listening to the waves. Beach trips are so relaxing it was great to see Dewayne’s mother, Linda, and our niece Katie. I swear Katie made me get the frozen ice!
I visited Nigrel, Jamaica. My favorite things were the amazing Caribbean jerk chicken, exploring the town, and meeting the locals. During an adventure cruise we got to see where parts of the Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed and snorkel in the gorgeous clear blue water!
This summer, I went to San Antonio to visit my daughter and granddaughter. We spent a lot of time exploring the town and even fit in a few activities. My favorite part was watching my  granddaughter enjoy the whole experience.
My first trip was to Amelia Island to see my best friend get married. It was so beautiful, and I am so happy that I could be there for her special day! I also went to Vegas this summer, I’d tell you more about it, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
This summer was full of adventures! My husband and I soaked up the sunshine at Lake Beavers Bend, I had a wonderful lunch date with my grandsons (Trent & Kade), and also joined my friend Judy on a cruise to Cozumel. There were no dull moments!
The hardest part about the end of summer is sending the kids back to school! My son attends military school in New Mexico, and my daughter made her way to college this year. I’m so proud of both of them.
Happy fall everyone! We hope you all enjoyed your summer just as much as we did. To hear more about our adventures and to share your own, stop by Crocker’s Jewelers in Texarkana, TX. Hope to see you all soon!

Just For Mom

To all of the children and husbands out there, don’t forget that Mother’s Day is coming up this coming Sunday, May 8th! Make her day and surprise her with something sparkly this year. After all, motherhood is a tough job and she deserves a great gift!

If you’re not quite sure where to start, don’t stress. The Crocker’s girls are here to help you find the perfect gift for that special woman in your life. See below for our Mother’s Day 2016 picks …

Sparkling Diamond Studs

I think an absolute must for all new Moms are diamond studs. They deliver a classic look and go with everything, so you won’t have to think about what you’ll wear with them. Who has time for that anyways?! Also, they’re perfect for little hands that love to grab at sparkly things. ~Shawn

Fashionable Bracelets

For the fashionable mom, you can’t go wrong with Lagos bracelets. Buy her one to express your appreciation, or even better yet, recruit your siblings to get her a stunning stack. She’ll love having one piece selected by each of you! With so many styles and colors to choose from it won’t be tough to find something perfect for her. ~ Heather

Dazzling Stackables

My Mother’s Day jewelry choice would have to be Gabriel & Co. stackable bands. Surprise her by incorporating the birthstones of the little ones in her life. Your unique combination not only symbolizes her family, but also becomes a dazzling statement piece that she can wear everyday! ~Makenzie

Timepieces With Style

I wear a watch everyday. Really, it drives me crazy if I forget to put one on! I especially love Michele watches because they’re more like a piece of jewelry that just happen to tell time. They are stylish and come with interchangeable straps so you can continue to switch up your style. ~Melissa

If you have any questions about these products, or other jewelry pieces for mom stop by Crocker’s Jewelers in Texarkana, TX. We’ve got just the thing to bring a smile to her face this Sunday, and beyond!
